1. Meet Eligibility Requirements

2. Complete the 40-Hour Training Program

3. Find a Supervisor or Assessor

You need a qualified BACB-certified supervisor (a BCBA, BCaBA, or similar) to observe your skills.

4. RBT Competency Assessment and Attestation Form

5. Submit Your Application

Create a BACB account, upload your completed training, competency assessment, and background check, then submit your application.

6. Take and Pass the RBT Exam

7. Maintain Your Certification

Work under ongoing supervision from a certified professional.
Adhere to the RBT Ethics Code.
Renew certification annually by completing the required competency assessments and renewal process.
